So it’s now 2021 and we are all still in lockdown. Most of us haven’t seen our friends and family since December last year now that’s a long time to be isolated, especially as a single parent. With that being said I hope your all doing well and your families. My first blog of 2021. ✍🏾
While we are all feeling the strain of having our children at home and not being able to go out I wanted to share with you my top 5 go too tips. Which I can honestly say work giving time and effort. Now let’s jump right IN.
1st LD Tip/ Trick
Once a day take your children out use the ONE HOUR, for exercise wisely. Once a week I make a treasure Map for me and my Daughter (Amarni-Anna) who is 6years old.
The Treasure Map includes things to look for on our walk. Here are a few examples of things I add to our homemade treasure maps 🗺 Add a sticker when you see some butterflies, orange coloured leaves 🍁, how many Dogs do you see.
This exercise is good not just for us as parents but our children, it’s a project you can work on together all you need, is A Printer/ third party printing service, A computer or Smart device with a Design Application there are lots of free ones my Favourite is the (Canva App).
It’s mentally, stimulating while promoting physical exercise for you and your child while having fun. Other benefits are, relaxation, exploration and Fresh Air. At the end of our treasure Hunt I reward her with a treat I Give lollipops or £2.
TIP 1 Use your 1hr wisely. Trick 1 get out and do some activities.

2nd LD TIP/ TRICK
Take 10 Mins to yourself. Use 10 mins a day to have a cuppa and a break, from cleaning, cooking, & home educating or working. It can be overwhelming to get everything done everyday on time.
So stop take a moment when the younger children are having a afternoon nap 💤. Breath in for 6 counts and breath out for 6, Do this for 3 mins or until (your) ready to stop, you still have some time. Begin a neck Roll, do this by rolling your neck slowly this will relax your muscles and take away the tension, follow up with shoulder and arm rolls slowly roll your shoulders back with arms extended, then forward, this will help to release pressure. Stress of everyday life can have a knock in effect on our bodies so it’s good to encourage and aid our minds with a process relaxation.
So to make this fun you could ask your children to participate meditating with you once a day as a part of your Home Schooling Routine or just as something fun. It’s never too early to learn light meditation 🧘♀️
Tip 2 is take time out for you. Trick 2 Get your children involved with light 🧘♀️ meditation.

3rd LD Tip / TRICK
Take break from the Screens, so weather you’re working from home or just Scrolling, it’s beneficial for us all to take a break from our devices. While in lock down it’s easy to compare ourselves to others, which can make us hard on ourselves even causing domestic violence, depression which leads to anxiety.
Remember we are not all the same, so take things at your own pace and don’t compare yourselves to others. Time 2 take a break from Social media! Why not call a friend? Someone whom you trust that can help to improve your emotional and mental state of mind (when needed). Try to seek mental health advice if your having mood swings or if you think you’re in need of more specific advice. “Remember you feet don’t compare nor compete they work together to accomplish the end goal of movement”.
Try to get your children to do the same take a break from their, iPads, phones and gaming consoles! Why not try/ buy some board games a few of our family favourites are, ( Monopoly, Jenga, Pie Face, blackjack snakes and ladders). You can also make up your own games with your children.

Tip 3 Take A Break From Social Media. Trick 3 Play family board games together.
4th LD Tip / Trick

Self care is more than what you eat, drink, wear or even your skin care routine. Self care is Also working on your mental stability, it’s growth, psychological progress & emotional maturity. It’s being able to walk away from situations and company that’s serves you no mental or emotion growth. Self care is a lifestyle that requires adjusting with the will of being flexible as an individual in-order to accomplish your desires making dreams reality.
Add some self love to your everyday life, have the courage to accept the things that are working and the things you can’t Change then let them go.
Every day is a day to improve your mental health and emotional stability, a second chance at new relationships and to build a unbreakable bond. Teach your children the importance of self acceptance give them the knowledge to know their indifference that’s what makes us who we are. Wouldn’t it BE BORING FOR US ALL 2 BE THE SAME. My best isn’t going to be your best we have our own standards, expectations, values which contributes to what we offer to others.
Tip 4 Be selfish to be selfless Trick 4 live by your own standards.
5th & Final LD Tip / Trick

Try to have fun do something you love doing and your family at least once a week. Remember no has been given on instruction on a Pandemic and there ain’t no instructions, so my advice is to take each day as they come as I said in the previous post and give yourself a break.
